peeling paper and tiny teacups

i read a book when i was younger

about a girl who discovers living dolls.
i dont remember the plot or character names,
but i remember peeling wallpaper with flowers,
and two dolls, male and female.
i remember the female served tea in tiny teacups,
and the male read the newspaper.
i remember the dolls were old and cracked,
and the female spoke to the girl more than the male.
i didn't like the female, but i was intrigued by her story.
i don't remember her story anymore,
but i remember her world.

this new background reminds me of her dollhouse world.
