dirty hair

inspired by steph...the only person who reads this...i decided to dedicate an entry to bathing.

you see, i take about two showers a week.  i know.  shocking.

social norm in america calls for at least one shower per day...sometimes two if you work out.
i worked out yesterday (monday).  one hour of yoga. one hour and a half of stair stepper machine.

my last shower was on friday.

the hour and a half on the stair stepper left me very sweaty.  my shirt was pretty soaked.
i went home, changed clothes, and left my house for the coffee shop.  i didnt smell.
after amb and i finished studying at the coffee shop i went into my room, picked up my shirt that was still a little damp from my work out, and told amber to smell it.  she didnt know anything about me working out in the shirt.  she said it smelled good.  yes.  good.

oh, and i dont wear deodorant.

i was going to take a shower today because the hair is getting pretty oily, but i wanted to sleep in.  this is why i have a wide selection of head wraps.

sometimes i smell, but not always...i have a pretty good sense of smell (the baker in me) so i can tell when i absolutely need to take a shower...dont fret

i just dont see why society tells me i need to wear deodorant and shower.  seriously, i should be telling society that water is a valuable resource and you should not waste gallons and gallons every single day because of vanity....now i know there are health issues with hygiene, and i am not saying one needs to be unhygienic.  i just think people should evaluate THEMSELVES to see what THEIR individual bathing rituals should be.

that is all.

POWER TO THE NON-BATHERS!

I realize the post was about your dirty hair... but, look at the room behind you. Is that your room? It is tre cute. The wall... the bookshelf, the light fixture.

sooooo cute.

OK, more about the no showering bit. I have compiled several Internet sources for you to compare and contrast your stance on bathing compared to what history has recorded.

I think you'll find it interesting... esp. the last site.

Go forth and learn.

i read your blog, miss!
i'm with you on the anti-bathing stance, kid.
i, on the other hand, stink.
you will be quite sad to know that in china i take a shower AND wash my hair every day.
it's the life that comes with having curly hair. sigh.
